I was going to use my old MCE win7 avermedla as a month long test before making my choice, but now AVerMedia, themselves, do not provide direct support for their devices under Linux but for one exception which itself is a case that is quite limited in scope.

Seems that some of drivers exist but modules are not loaded automatically. AVerMedia is occasionally explicitly Linux friendly, though most support has been written without their input and we cannot count on their help in resolving problems.
Next Post Still plugging along…. Resetting the system didn’t help. Avermedla it is not in the man pages or the how-to’s this is the place! In response to a new hardware project KernelLabs is starting up, we have started to take a closer look at the recently merged ngene driver.
